In this session, Jennifer Bridges and David Nour, along with Antonio Nieto-Rodriguez, will discuss the competencies needed to succeed in The Project Economy.  

Antonio Nieto-Rodriguez is the author of 'The Project Revolution: How to Succeed in a Project Driven World', the pioneer of The Project Economy and previous recipient of the Thinkers 50 Award for 'Ideas into Action'. Amidst the increasing crisis of Covid-19, Antonio quickly assembled a global group for the purpose of solving problems in an effort to recover quickly. You'll learn more about this in his session.

Project leaders are facing more unknowns around their employment – will they still have a job, what will be the skills they will need post virus, have they been made redundant and how are they going to find their next role.

It is a horrible feeling not knowing if you are going to have a job and can be even more uncomfortable trying to figure out how to start looking for one.  Having the skills that are in demand is so important.  There's much uncertainty about the future and you must temper speculations of what's to come with your experience and gather intel about who is getting the new roles (and, why).  Remaining relevant with a skillset that is in demand is the key.

In this session, we’re talking with Andy Kaufman about dealing with difficult stakeholders.

The situation looks like this... as our project challenges continue to get more complex, so do our stakeholder relationships. Whether we're working remotely or all co-located, we increasingly have to productively work with a wide variety of stakeholders. Inevitably, we encounter people and situations that feel particularly challenging. Though we can unfriend people on social media, we typically can't do that with our stakeholders.

What you will leave knowing is a set of strategies to employ to help you deal with difficult stakeholders.

In this session we are talking with Lee Lambert about Training or Learning – What’s the difference.  Lee was instrumental in the creation of the PMI’s Project Management Professional (PMP)^® credential and is a project management industry thought-leader with nearly 45 years of experience.

The situation project managers and leaders are experiencing today is there is a plethora of Credentials and the training to go with them.  The question is do these add value?  Where do you focus your training efforts?  This session will cover exactly those questions. 

We understand that selecting the Credential that is right for you is important.  We are seeing the pressure to obtain Credentials and what works well is when you carefully assess the value add of the specific Credentials.  Although the learning associated with the Credential is important, what is most important now is the application of Credential related skills.

In this session, we’re talking about the Purpose Driven PMO. 

Our research shows that the great majority of PMO Leaders are PMs being promoted to a leadership role.  However, these new PMO Leaders aren’t getting leadership training and PMOs are failing. 

Leading a PMO requires a different set of skills than leading a project.  We’ll share those skills and provide some solutions to help make PMO Leaders successful.

As a corporate PMO Leader I learned first-hand about the transition from successful Project Manager to unsuccessful PMO Manager.  No one prepared me for the differences between running a PMO and running a project.  I know what it’s like to be in the awful position where you aren’t prepared and you’re losing control.  I wish I knew then what I knew now!
